Disc Golf Outing for Parents – Tuesday, April 7

What is disc golf?

Disc golf is a flying disc (aka “frisbee”) sport in which players throw a disc at a target; it is played using rules similar to golf. It is usually played on a course of 9 or 18 holes. Players complete a hole by throwing a disc from a tee area toward a target, throwing again from the landing position of the disc until the target is reached. Usually, the number of throws a player uses to reach each target are tallied (often in relation to par), and players seek to complete each hole in the lowest number of total throws. Learn more about the game here.

We’ll be hoping for good weather but disc golf can be played rain or shine! This is a favorite sport for some Hawks parents and they are excited to share it with the rest of us.

About Our Event

On Tuesday, April 7, we will meet at Fort Washington State Park and – after a short “how to play” lesson – it’s GAME ON! We will play a round of disc golf in groups with our friends while enjoying the outdoor setting. We will borrow all the equipment you need to play, thanks to generous friends.

As of now, we are working to determine the best time (or times) to start this event. Please fill out this form to let us know you are interested in attending – that will help us figure out the timing. We will definitely finish in time to enjoy an early dinner and move on to our pub crawl!

What to bring: wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Don’t forget the sunblock, and a bottle of water.

Address:
Fort Washington State Park
500 S Bethlehem Pike
Fort Washington, PA  19034
